It seems Tumblr is fighting back against us Thirty Day Challengers. In the back of my mind, I had a feeling something like this would happen.

The Thirty Day Challenge is a huge success and is far more popular this year than last. There are hundreds, maybe thousands, of people following along and trying to make their first ten bucks online. Many of these people regularly visit the forum so I assume all of the forum surfers are active participants.

If each of these few hundred participants creates a Tumblr page or two for their niches within a 24-hour period…that’s a lot of new sites! I remember seeing the social sites in Social Poster flooded with Tumblr page submissions. Fortunately, I have a bit of experience with the techniques used in the 30DC so I was able to jump ahead of the game and create my pages before the surge. And I avoided the “Tumblr Slap” because of it.

There are many alternatives to Tumblr that Ed should have mentioned to the Challengers. Even though each Tumblr page or two is owned and has content written by a different person, the huge surge of new pages still looks “spammy.” I’ll put up a list of alternatives in a bit.
